I feel fortunate to have grown up in the golden age of rock music. It has been my good fortune to have seen live in concert all the greats (including the Beatles!). My knowledge of this era probably represents a misspent youth but I don’t regret a moment of it! Combing through my CDs and other sources that I access for the show each week, so many pleasant memories rise to the surface. Instead of just the old hits I search out lesser-known artists that somehow History has forgotten but certainly deserve to be heard. The 70s were an era that included many singer-songwriters and they also are given airplay. An interesting segment of the show is “Rock Embarrassments”! There plenty of shockers out there and it is a lot of fun to play these bad records and have a laugh. Some of us may have even purchased these songs in our youth! The versions of familiar songs may well be in-concert performances; you may know the song but not that performance. If you like the golden era of rock music, tune in, you can be sure you will never hear just the “Same Old, Same Old” - Clive |
